By using Walk4Me you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
01What Walk4Me is
Walk4Me is a general-purpose tool for recording an iPhone's motion sensors, location and video. You decide what to record, whether recordings stay on your phone, and whether to send them to a server you choose. Walk4Me makes no medical or research claims. It is a tool, and how you set it up and use it is your choice and your responsibility. That includes the mode, the labels, the server, and what you share.
02Your responsibilities
- Recording others: if you record other people, you must have their permission (for a child, a parent's or guardian's permission) and follow the laws that apply where you are.
- Running a server: if you run a server that receives recordings from other people's phones, you are responsible for how that data is collected, used, stored, kept and deleted, and for any permissions or approvals your use requires.
- Using it for others: if you use Walk4Me as part of a study, a class, a workplace or any other organized collection, the person or organization running it is responsible for whatever that use requires (for example ethics approval, consent and data protection). As the app's developer, Walk4Me's developer has no part in it.
- Lawful use: don't use Walk4Me to record anyone secretly, to harm anyone, or in any way that breaks the law.
03Servers you connect to
A server you connect to, whether by typing its address or scanning a setup code, is run by whoever operates it, not by the app. The app's developer does not see or receive the data you send to it, unless the developer also runs that server, in which case they act as its operator (see the Privacy Policy). The operator's own terms and privacy rules apply to that data.
04Not a medical device
Walk4Me records data. It does not diagnose, monitor, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.
05No warranty
Walk4Me is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Recordings can be incomplete or lost, for example if the phone runs out of storage or battery, or a permission is turned off. Keep copies of anything important.
06Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Walk4Me's developer is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the app or of data recorded with it.
07Changes
These terms may be updated. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app means you accept it.
